Feb. 18        Start ‘Em Now! Cool Season Crops – 11 am at Bookcliff Gardens

You can grow cool season veggies you & your family love! Lots of delicious vegetables prefer growing in cooler weather.  Leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, peas onions and more thrive with an early start. For novice to experienced gardeners . . . there’s something for everyone in this session with Mona Dyer.  Classroom space is limited so pre-register early! $5 registration fee.

 

Feb.25         Prune with Passion – Take a Whack It! – 11 am at Bookcliff Gardens

Keeping your yard tidy may seem daunting, but some well timed pruning puts everything right! Mona Dyer will show you pruning tricks that’ll keep your beds & borders happy & teach you how to keep your beloved shrubs & perennials in healthy condition year after year.  Learn what plants need to be pruned, when & how! Come take a whack at it! Classroom space is limited so pre-register early! $5 registration fee.

 

Mar 4 & 5     Plant Show West – Plant Expo 2017 – Saturday & Sunday at Bookcliff Gardens

Join us for a weekend of fun as Bookcliff Gardens hosts this annual plant show! You’ll learn from specialists with several wonderful local Plant Societies. Gurus in growing Orchids, Cactus & Succulents & African Violets will be at Bookcliff all weekend to share their knowledge & expertise! FREE ADMISSION!

 

Mar 11 & 18  Let’s Prune Roses! (2 sessions offered) – 11am at Bookcliff Gardens

Learning to properly prune rose bushes is a wonderful accomplishment. Join Dennis Hill for an entertaining tutorial and some honest to goodness hands on experience! Bring your pruners & gloves! This class is so popular, Dennis is teaching it twice this spring. Classroom space is limited, so pre-register early for one of two sessions. $5 registration fee. (We’ll supply the Band-Aides!)

 

March 25     Your Bountiful Veggie Patch (session 1) – 11 am at Bookcliff Gardens

We all dream of that beautiful veggie garden . . . juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers & more!  Let Mona Dyer help you start your garden, and make it flourish through the summer!  You’ll learn about fertilizing, mulching, watering and ways to defeat those pesky bug and disease problems.  The mysteries of your garden are sweet & tasty . . . once you see the world from your plant’s perspective! Classroom space is limited so pre-register early for one of two sessions! $5 registration fee.

 

April 1         Down & Dirty Greenhouse Tour (sessions at 9am & 1pm) at Bookcliff Gardens

Travel behind the scenes into Bookcliff Gardens’ Greenhouse operations … for a fascinating look at how zillions of baby plants get their start every year. No foolin’! Greenhouse Manager Tyler Bertroch and the crew will show you around & walk you through the process that transforms seeds into plants that you take home to nurture. There’s no registration fee, but space is limited so please pre-register!

 

 April 8        Perennials are a Pleasure – 11am at Bookcliff Gardens

Perennial flowers are the jewels of beautiful gardens everywhere. Learn to make the most of your valuable time & money using the power of perennials! Mona Dyer teaches this class … sharing lots of experience in perennial gardening. She’ll help you select plant varieties that’ll give you waves of dazzling color through every season… and show you how to feed, water & prune perennials so they thrive & grow in your yard for years to come! Classroom space is limited so pre-register early! $5 registration fee.

 

April 15       Design and Grow Dazzling Containers – 11 am at Bookcliff Gardens

Greenhouse professional Kim Flynn is on deck to show you how to plant and grow things you love … in containers! From spectacular flowers to tasty herbs and veggies … the possibilities for containers are endless. Bring your own containers for a hands-on lesson in creativity! Classroom space is limited so pre-register early! $5 registration fee does not include planting materials.
