Mona Dyer, Lead Clerk
Hi there! My name is Mona and I'm the lead clerk at Bookcliff Gardens retail store. I've been working at the store since 2004 and love every minute. It's a joy to greet customers every day and help you find garden answers. I'm a native who started diggin' in the dirt 40 years ago, so it's fun to help you learn how to make things grow, too! I earned my Colorado Nursery Association certification in 2009, but the most valuable training has come from working alongside my colleagues – including Dennis Hill. From identifying plants & bugs to diagnosing diseases and trouble shooting garden problems... we do all we can to give you answers! At home, my hobbies are perennial and vegetable gardening, cooking and canning. My husband Rick, and my teenaged kids, Kyndall & Brandon seem to love me despite my dirt addiction. I'm their very own Mud Mama!
Kim Flynn, Greenhouse Supervisor
Hi! My name is Kim Flynn and I'm a Grand Valley native. I've been with Bookcliff Gardens for 13 years. I'm a professional b.s.'er, and a greenhouse supervisor for Bookcliff Gardens. My crew transplants, waters and does overall care and maintenance for annual and perennial bedding plants, vegetable seedlings and houseplants. I'm also in charge of custom plantings for pots and landscapes. When I'm not growing plants, I'm growing my two little sproutlings – Konner and Kinlee. My hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, camping and arrowhead hunting. So, whenever you're at the greenhouse and have questions, feel free to track me down and say hi. We're always happy to help.
Yrma Jiminez, Designer
Hello. My name is Yrma. I started to work at Bookcliff Gardens in 2000. As months went by, I began seeing the many different colors and a huge variety of plants that God gave to us through this nursery. My co-workers gave me the opportunity to learn how to care for every kind of plant. Here at Bookcliff Gardens, I'm in charge of designing and planting custom pots and moss basket plantings. It is an incredible experience combining all the different colored, shapes and textures. I love taking plant cuttings and watching how they grow each day. Outside of the greenhouse I take care of my three daughters and my beautiful grand-daughter, Alexia.
Debbie LaRose, Nursery Staff
After living in Jackson Hole for the past 20 years, my husband and I decided to move to Grand Junction to be closer to family. While living in Wyoming, my passion and therapy was always my yard and garden. It has been a blessing to be working at Bookcliff Gardens since 2009. Every day is a learning experience and a joy to interact with our patrons and my fellow workers. My dream definitely has come true in the ability to work outdoors and with everything green and growing.
Jeanette Cameron, Nursery Professional

Hi there! My name is Ann Sommerhause. I have worked at Bookcliff Gardens since 2009. It has allowed me to fulfill my two passions - working with customers and working with plants. I have completed the Master Gardener program through Colorado State University Extension. But my real training happens everyday I work. Not a day goes by that I don't learn at least one or two new things about plants and how to keep the healthy. I am working towards becoming a Certified Nursery Professional. When I'm not working and digging in the dirt at home I love being on the river in my inflatable kayak, hiking and spending time with my two grown children.
